About We Love SG Flowers
"We Love SG Flowers" Community Engagement Programme (CEP) culminating in Chingay 2015 to celebrate Singapore 50 was launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday, 27 April 2014.
Through this nine-month CEP, the People's Association (PA) aims to involve Singaporeans and households from diverse backgrounds to make more than one million flowers from used plastic bags. Each flower will represent their love and well-wishes for the nation as Singapore celebrates its 50th birthday in 2015.
Culminating in Chingay 2015, the flowers will be part of a ‘gigantic flower bed' which will be featured at the opening of Chingay 2015, Chingay 2015 Night Fiesta and at the PAssionArts Festival 2015 next April.

You can be part of the We Love SG flower making by recycling your used plastic bags and make them into your own "We Love SG Flowers" to show your love for Singapore. As part of the CEP, we are running the #welovesgflowers Instagram Video Contest to engage the community in producing innovative and creative short films to express one's creativity and at the same time, bring people together from different communities.

1.1 INTER-CONSTITUENCY CONTEST ON "WE LOVE SG FLOWERS" CEP
Be part of the flower-making campaign and stand a chance to win prizes! As a constituency, gather as many residents and communities to be part of the flower-making campaign and participate in the following competitions to win attractive prizes!
1.1.1 Contest Categories: Most number of "We Love SG Flowers" contributed as a Constituency
Do as many flowers as you can! Each constituency is encouraged to contribute as many flowers as possible to win the grand prizes. 10 prizes are up for grab so gather as many residents as possible to join us in making the "We Love SG Flowers"!
1.1.2 Most number of #welovesgflowers video posted onto Instagram as a Constituency
Constituency should incorporate the "We Love SG Flowers" gesture in your entry. Visit www.chingay.org.sg for more details and the promotional video. Videos are uploaded via Instagram by simply tagging their videos with #welovesgflowers and #nameofCC! Constituency with the most number of videos uploaded will stand a chance to win prizes!
1.2 #welovesgflowers INSTAGRAM VIDEO CONTEST
Participants should incorporate the "We Love SG Flowers" gesture in your entry. Visit www.chingay.org.sg for more details – "We Love SG Flowers" Instructional Video and the #welovesgflowers Instagram Video Contest promotional video are up on the website. Videos are uploaded via Instagram by simply tagging their videos with #welovesgflowers! The most popular submission each month, determined by the most number of ‘Likes' and the most creative submission each month, determined by a panel of judges, will win a pair of Chingay 2015 Tickets and Chingay 2015 National Education Show Official Photo/Videographer Passes respectively.
2.1 INTER-CONSTITUENCY CONTEST
*Both competitions will have the same set of winners and prizes to be won.
** Main Parade is held on 27 & 28 February 2015, 8.00pm at F1 Pit Building. Prize can be only either night of the parade.
*** National Education Show will be held on 14 February 2015, 7.00pm at F1 Pit Building.
2.2 #welovesgflowers INSTAGRAM VIDEO CONTEST
2.2.1 A pair of Chingay 2015 National Education Show Official Photo/Videographer Pass (Most Creative Submission) and Tickets to
Chingay 2015 (Most Popular Submission)!
2.2.2 A pair of Chingay 2015 Parade One, Category Two Tickets will be won by the submission with the most number of ‘Likes'. Parade One takes place on Friday, 27 February 2015 at the F1 Pit Building from 8.00pm.
2.2.3 A pair of Chingay 2015 National Education Show Official Photo/Videographer Passes will be won by the most creative submission. This Show takes place on Saturday, 14 February 2015 at the F1 Pit Building from 7.00pm.
2.2.4 A total of six pairs of Chingay 2015 Parade One Tickets and National Education Show Official Passes to be won from this six-month Contest.
3.1 The Competition is open to all 87 constituencies represented as "Constituency".
3.2 To participate and/or win, constituency/participant must be registered user of Instagram for the most number of videos uploaded by the Constituency and have a contribution of minimum 5,000 flowers.
3.3 The Competition is open to all Singaporeans, Permanent Residents (PRs) and foreigners residing in Singapore and Overseas Singaporeans (OS).
3.4 To participate and/or win, participant must be registered user of Instagram.
3.5 Each participant stands to win one prize only, regardless of the number of entries submitted; the same entry can win one prize only.
4 PROHIBITED CONTENT
4.1 All entries submitted must be original and unpublished work created for the Competition. It should not violate the rights of any other party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights or rights of privacy/publicity.
4.2 Entries must NOT contain:
4.2.1 Advertising or commercial content for any party;
4.2.2 Content that endorses/promotes illegal or harmful activity;
4.2.3 Violent, profane, vulgar, obscene, defamatory or otherwise objectionable material; and/or
4.2.4 Pornographic material.
4.3 The People's Association (PA) reserves the right to disqualify any entries that violates these prohibitions, or any video the PA deems inappropriate for any reason, in the PA's sole discretion.
5 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
5.1 INTER-CONSTITUENCY CONTEST: MOST NUMBER OF "WE LOVE SG FLOWERS" SUBMITTED
5.1.1 To qualify for the competition, the Constituency needs to submit at least 5,000 flowers with required size of 10cm to 15cm. The PA will start the counting from 5,000 onwards and the Constituency with the most number of flowers submitted by the submission dateline will win the grand prize.
5.1.2 Constituency will need to store the completed flowers in bags/containers and to indicate the constituency name outside the bags/containers for record and judging purposes.
5.1.3 Constituency onus to indicate properly on the submitted bags/containers or flowers their constituency name as unnamed bags/containers will not be considered.
5.1.4 Each bag/container should store about 500 flowers before submitting to the PA.
5.1.5 Submission Deadline: Wednesday, 31 December 2014 1200hrs
5.2 INTER-CONSTITUENCY CONTEST: MOST NUMBER OF VIDEOS POSTED
5.2.1 Participants may enter the Competition by creating and posting an Instagram video on the theme of "We Love SG Flowers", "We Love SG Flowers" gesture and adding the hashtag #welovesgflowers and CC's name (please refer to Annex A for the naming of the hashtag) to the video.
5.2.2 In order for the PA to view entry videos and include them in the Competition, constituency's Instagram account must be set to permit public viewing during the contest period.
5.2.3 The PA is not responsible for computer or network problems, problems with Instagram, or other submission errors that result in late or inadmissible entries.
5.2.4 The video must be fifteen seconds or less in length.
5.2.5 There is no limit on the number of entries constituencies/participants may submit.
5.2.6 Submission Deadline: Thursday, 15 January 2015, 2359hrs
5.3 #welovesgflowers INSTAGRAM VIDEO CONTEST
5.3.1 Participants may enter the Contest by creating and posting an Instagram video on the theme of "We Love SG Flowers", "We Love SG Flowers" gesture and adding the hashtags #welovesgflowers to the video.
5.3.2 The six-month long Contest comprises of six Campaigns. The duration of each Campaign is as follows:
A. Campaign 1: Tuesday, 15 July 2014, 12.00am - Friday, 15 August 2014, 11.59pm
B. Campaign 2: Saturday, 16 August 2014, 12.00am - Monday, 15 September 2014, 11.59pm
C. Campaign 3: Tuesday, 16 September 2014, 12.00am - Wednesday, 15 October 2014, 11.59pm
D. Campaign 4: Thursday, 16 October 2014, 12.00am - Saturday, 15 November 2014, 11.59pm
E. Campaign 5: Sunday, 16 November 2014, 12.00am - Monday, 15 December 2014, 11.59pm
F. Campaign 6: Tuesday, 16 December 2014, 12.00am - Thursday, 15 January 2015, 11.59pm
5.3.3 In order for the PA to view entry videos and include them in the Competition, participants' Instagram account must be set to permit public viewing during the Contest period.
5.3.4 The PA is not responsible for computer or network problems, problems with Instagram, or other submission errors that result in late or inadmissible entries.
5.3.5 The video must be fifteen seconds or less in length.
5.3.6 There is no limit on the number of entries participants may submit.
6.1 By submitting video(s), participants grant the PA an unrestricted, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, transmit, publish, display, or otherwise use the video or videos (including in conjunction with participant's likeness, photo, name and/or geographical and biological information), with or without modifications, in any media, whether now existing or later developed, for any purpose. To the extent a video includes the likeness of a person other than the participant; the participant must provide proper permissions in a form acceptable to the PA.
6.2 Will not be liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the participants; and
6.3 Reserve the right to modify the competition prizes and its rules and regulations as and when necessary, without prior notice.
7 NOTIFICATION & ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNER
7.1 INTER-CONSTITUENCY CONTEST
7.1.1 The PA will notify the winning Constituencies through email by 31 January 2015. If winning Constituencies fail to respond within three working days, the Prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.
7.1.2 All winners are required to collect the tickets at the People's Association Headquarters, SCENE Division located at 9 King George's Ave, Singapore 208581 by 6 February 2015.
7.1.3 All winners will be required to submit the entry in the following formats - AVI, WMV, MOV and MPEG, to the PA.
7.2 #welovesgflowers INSTAGRAM VIDEO CONTEST
7.2.1 The PA will notify the winner through Instagram or other communication methods on the following dates.
A. Campaign 1: Wednesday, 20 August 2014
B. Campaign 2: Saturday, 20 September 2014
C. Campaign 3: Monday, 20 October 2014
D. Campaign 4: Thursday, 20 November 2014
E. Campaign 5: Saturday, 20 December 2014
F. Campaign 6: Tuesday, 20 January 2015
If such winner fails to respond within three days, he or she may be disqualified, and the Prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. In the event of a dispute about the identity of the winner, the PA will award the Prize to the authorized account holder of the Instagram account associated with the winning video.
7.3 The PA will publicly announce the winner through social media channels associated with the PA such as www.chingay.org.sg, www.facebook.com/PAssionChingayClub and etc.
7.4 All winners will be required to submit the entry in the following formats - AVI, WMV, MOV and MPEG, to the PA.
7.5 All prizes shall be collected by the end of each campaign month.

Prizes will be collected from the People's Association (9 King George's Avenue, Singapore 208581) from Monday – Friday between 9.30am to 7.00pm.
8.1 The entries will be assessed by a selected panel of judges to determine the winners and their decision is final. No correspondence(s) pertaining to the judging and short listing process will be entertained.
8.2 The entries will be judged based on visual appeal, artistic, originality, creativity, content and technique.
8.3 One winner will be selected based on the Most Creative Submission and one winner will be selected based on the Most Popular Submission.
